The complete refit process had a duration of four years. All works were mainly done by a professional company specialized in the refit of classic wooden boats. Following the list of the work done in 2006/2010: First the boat was stored in a hall for several months to dry, then it was completely dismantled, hull and keel replaced; frames sanded, repaired and painted; hull sides, deck, interiors and transom sanded and varnished with 22 coats; new chrome plated of the exhaust pipes and manifolds; two new specifically designed propeller sets; new original siren; cabin totally restored; new toilet; new additional electronic GPS/Plotter; VHF; HiFi Surround system; new complete upholstery, inside and outside; new navigation lights; new cabrio cover in white; new rev counters as original; new hutches of the engine; changing and overhauling of the engines; new Velvet gearboxes installed; new Edelbrook carburetors installed; shower with fresh water tank installed; anchor light installed; new small fridge installed; new third battery mounting, to be charged by shore power. Further works in 2017/2019: overhouling of the engines and electric system, new upholstery, new chrome. That Rio is still in a mint condition. Only about 80 hours engines cruising.
